UPGRADING YOUR HEADSET? SOME GOOD REASONS TO GO WIRELESS
Headsets have come a long way since the ‘olden days’ and more and more people are realising the benefits of using one.
However, if you’re in the market for a new headset or if you’re buying one for the first time, the jargon and the technical stuff can be a bit confusing. Let’s simplify things…..take a read through the following article which gives a brief overview of what you should look for in a headset.
The first thing you need to decide is whether you’re looking for wireless or corded headphones?. Is it important for you to move around whilst using your headset or are you happy to be in one place? Even if you’re desk-bound, a wireless phone headset can be advantageous.
Wireless headsets are perceived to be more expensive – but it’s worth shopping around and paying for quality.
Wearing headphones, whether they are wireless or corded, will enable you to be much more productive and healthier – with scientific studies to prove it. Not that you need research…it makes perfect sense anyway!.
Headphones come in several different styles and designs and it’s really a matter of personal preference as to what you choose…. it could be monaural (one ear) or binaural (both ears), discreet earbud headsets, over-the-ear ones or ones that are worn over the head. If surrounding noise is going to be a distraction, then it may be better to wear a headset which has speakers in both ears.
Your best bet when investigating different headphones is to go for products from the leading manufacturers so that you are guaranteed to get good quality. For example, Plantronics offers one of the industry’s most complete families of corded and wireless headsets products and has a reputation for sound quality, reliability and comfort. Plantronics cs60 headset range was one of their biggest sellers and their latest wireless addition, the Savi, looks to go one better.
It’s also important to think about battery life and compatibility with your phone when choosing a headset. If you do decide that a wireless phone headset is the way to go – make sure the range of the headset is adequate for your needs. One example is the Savi wireless headphone from Plantronics which has a range of up to 350 feet.
A headset can really transform the way you live and work – so it’s important to choose the right one that meets your needs.
